Burton Phillips
Associate
Burton Phillips is an associate in the competition and regulatory team in Johannesburg. He specialises in all aspects of the Consumer Protection Act and particularly in advising clients on compliance.
Burton has assisted in advising various local and multinational firms in a number of industries including retail and manufacturing.
Burton regularly advises clients on how to apply the new Act to their businesses, including consumer law opinions, reviewing of agreements and the drafting and implementing of consumer law compliance manuals.
In addition to his work in consumer law, Burton also assists clients in relation to their competition law compliance and regularly assists in relation to competition law opinions, cartel investigations and merger notifications.
Burton holds a Bcom, majoring in law and economics, and an LLB from the North-West University and is fluent in English and Afrikaans.
