- Advising Exxaro Resources Limited on the formation of its Australian holding company with Tronox in exchange for approximately 38.5 per cent of the shares in Tronox
- Advising Absa Bank Limited on the acquisition of the accounts and receivables relating to the private label store cards of Edcon Proprietary Limited throughout Africa
- Advising SacOil Holdings Limited on the US$123 million acquisition by Total E&P RDC of a 60 per cent undivided interest in Block III, Albertine Graben in the DRC from Semliki Energy SPRL, a subsidiary of SacOil Holdings Limited
- Advising ETC Holdings (Mauritius) Limited and Standard Chartered Private Equity (Mauritius) III Limited on the US$74 million acquisition by Standard Chartered Private Equity of a minority stake in ETC Group
