Our Singapore insurance team provides a hub of specialist insurance expertise for the Asia Pacific region. Working in conjunction with our pan-Asian offices, particularly in Hong Kong, we advise international insurance and reinsurance companies on local and regional transactions and disputes on a regular basis.
As part of our international insurance group, we often advise on the local Singapore aspects of major cross-border mandates in the sector, working closely with our specialist insurance lawyers throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada, Africa and the Middle East.
We deliver:
- A combination of in-depth industry knowledge with an understanding of the legal and regulatory regimes underpinning retail insurance products (including structured products and mutual and linked funds) and the distribution of such products throughout Asia
- Extensive expertise in advising on strategic investment in the region, drawing upon the skills of our local cross-practice lawyers in corporate, litigation and dispute resolution, financial institutions, banking and finance, and business ethics and anti-corruption

Our recent work:
- Advising Zurich Insurance Company on the establishment and licensing of a new life insurance company in Singapore
- Advising Chartis as warranty and indemnity insurer in relation to various M&A transactions in the region, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam and China
- Advising the insurers of the Senokol joint venture contracted to design and construct a major transmission cable system in Singapore via two 1.7 kilometre-long underground tunnels
