Norton Rose secures top listing for most aspirational workplace
18 June 2012
The South African Graduate Recruiters Association (SAGRA) has just released its fifth annual survey of new and future employees at South Africa’s leading organisations and Norton Rose South Africa secured 17th place out of over 200 employers mentioned for the most aspirational employer of choice 2012. This is the first time a law firm has been included in the top 20 listing.
When asked to state the main reason for selecting their most aspirational employer of choice, nearly half the graduates (from all degrees and qualifications) made their choice based on the overall reputation of the employer, while a fifth said it was the appeal of the employers’ product, service or brand.
The top 20 listing included leading companies such as the four top audit firms, three of the corporate banks, Investec, Unilever, SARS, SAB, BHP Billiton, Anglo American, Accenture and Sasol, to name a few.
As part of the survey, graduates were also asked to name one representative who had made the most positive impression on them during their job search and Reshma Dayah, Professional Recruitment and Development Manager at Norton Rose South Africa, was one of the top people who received the most votes. More than 400 different company representatives from over 150 different organisations were mentioned.
Rob Otty, Managing Director at Norton Rose commented:
“This is a huge accolade for us, not only as a company but also as a brand. This demonstrates the strength of our brand which is now crossing into areas beyond just law. We are also thrilled at the recognition received by Reshma Dayah, our Professional Recruitment and Development Manager. This is a significant achievement and she has done the company proud.”
