Peter Talibart is an employment lawyer based in London where he is Head of our Employment practice.
Peter is employment counsel to major multinationals and financial institutions on strategic cross-border employment issues. He is known in the financial services sector for his work in the areas of ethics and HR and cross border employment policies. He specialises in all aspects of UK and cross-border employment law, in particular corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, PPP transactions, corporate governance (employment), financial services compliance and ethical issues, multi-jurisdictional transactions, restructurings and collective consultations, board room disputes, whistleblowing, discrimination, TUPE and outsourcing.
Peter is one of the few employment lawyers in the world who has advised a sovereign country on the redesign of its labour law system and the framework of its future labour laws. He has advised major multinationals and financial institutions on HR issues arising from transactions or restructuring in over 80 jurisdictions around the world.
Peter is a rated practitioner in the major legal directories of leading employment lawyers. His innovative work has been recognised three times by the Lawyer awards since 2001 and earned the accolade “the star of Norton Rose’s employment practice is in the ascendant” at the 2005 awards. Chambers Europe 2007 states " clients spontaneously enthuse about his international prowess". He is dual qualified in Canada and in the UK.
Peter is a popular speaker and has lectured on both sides of the Atlantic on international employment law issues. He has appeared on the BBC television news and has been quoted in major British, French and German newspapers including The Times, the Financial Times, The Independent, the Guardian and the Sunday Telegraph. He has also appeared on BBC television news and live radio. He has been published widely in various HR and Employment law journals in UK and US including Corporate Counsel, Financial News, Financial Director, People Management and the Employment Law Journal.
Peter sits on both the Employment Panel and the Employment forum of the Confederation of British Industry, and is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Employment Lawyers' Association and the Global Forum for Cross-Border Human Resource Experts. He is listed in Canada's Who's Who.
