Dr. Dirk Otto is a corporate finance lawyer based in Frankfurt. He advises on a wide variety of corporate transactions including public and private company mergers, acquisitions and disposals, joint ventures and venture capital investments.

Dirk’s previous experience includes advising Deutsche Beteiligungs AG on various acquisitions and disposals, including the acquisition of HEIM & HAUS Group, the sale of Babcock Borsig Power Service Group; advising Star Capital Partners on the acquisition of Alloheim AG He has also acted for Carlsberg Breweries on the public takeover of Holsten and the sale of Koenig and Licher breweries. Other transactions include advising ASE on the acquisition of NUKEM Technologies GmbH and Corporate Finance Partners on the establishment of a private equity fund. More generally, he regularly advises AIG, now CHARTIS Insurance, in relation to warranty and indemnity insurance policies.

Dirk has been recognised by JUVE Legal Directory as highly recommended in M&A, private equity and venture capital.

Dirk was admitted to the Frankfurt bar in 1995. He joined the Frankfurt practice as a partner in 2001 after working with another major international legal practice as an M&A lawyer for seven years. Dirk is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCiArb), African Law Association, Arab & Islamic Law Association and the Frankfurt Bar Association.
