Dirk Otto is a corporate finance lawyer based in Frankfurt.
Dirk advises on a wide variety of corporate transactions, including public and private company mergers, acquisitions and disposals,
joint ventures and venture capital investments.
Dirk’s previous experience includes advising INVESCO on the sale of its German depot bank and custodian business. He has also
acted for Carlsberg Breweries on the public takeover of Holsten and the sale of Koenig and Licher breweries. Other transactions
include advising Apollon Funds on the proposed acquisition of a reinsurance company and acting for Deutsche Beteiligungs AG
on the sale of Babcock Borsig Power Service Group. More generally, he regularly advises AIG in relation to warranty and indemnity
insurance policies.
Dirk was admitted to the Frankfurt bar in 1995. He joined the Frankfurt practice as a partner in 2001 after working with another
major international legal practice as an M&A lawyer for seven years.
Dirk has been recognised by
JUVE Legal Directory 2005/2006 as highly recommended in M&A, private equity and venture capital.
Dirk is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (MCiArb), African Law Association, Arab & Islamic Law Association
and the Frankfurt Bar Association.
