Wilson Ang is a regulatory and investigative lawyer based in the dispute resolution team in Singapore.
Wilson has more than 10 years’ experience handling contentious matters and advising on compliance and risk management in Singapore,
London and Hong Kong. His broad multi-jurisdictional experience spans from handling regulatory and corporate investigations
to international arbitration to commercial litigation.
Wilson qualified as an Advocate and Solicitor in Singapore, was admitted to the Solicitors’ Roll of England and Wales and qualified as a Solicitor in Hong Kong. He became a Solicitor-Advocate and was awarded higher rights of audience in England and Wales. Wilson was named by Asialaw Leading Lawyers survey as a Leading Dispute Resolution Lawyer for three consecutive years. Wilson has significant experience advising major financial/banking institutions, leading MNCs and conglomerates, insurance and accounting firms as well as governmental and regulatory bodies.
Wilson's experience includes conducting an international arbitration under UNCITRAL Rules involving a multi-national company’s US$500 million dispute concerning its operations in Thailand, investigating allegations of bribery and working with private investigators, forensic computer experts and accountants to uncover evidence of fraud and corrupt payments in relation to the company's Thai supplier; acting for a leading Asian commercial bank in managing various disputes involving Lehman Brothers-related structured products on multiple fronts, including courts actions, regulatory investigations and Legislative Council inquiries in Hong Kong and Singapore; conducting arbitration proceedings under ICC Rules in Hong Kong and obtaining Mareva injunctive relief from the court in aid of such arbitration in the sum of US$76 million; and advising the liquidators of a Lehman Brothers entity in proceedings brought by a PRC institutional investor in the Shanghai courts in a structured securities transaction governed by Hong Kong law.
