David Stannard

David Stannard is a corporate lawyer based in Hong Kong and our Group Head of Corporate.
David has been involved in a significant number of prominent corporate transactions in his practice in Hong Kong. He regularly advises leading international and local investment banks and companies. These have included a wide variety of: listings/IPOs; public company takeover and merger transactions; rights issues and other secondary fundraisings; private company sales and purchases; joint ventures; private equity investments; bond issues, particularly of convertible or exchangeable bonds; and compliance issues under the Stock Exchange Listing Rules and the Codes on Takeovers and Mergers and Share Repurchases.
David read law at Southampton University. He qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales in 1981 and was admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong in 1983. He is a former executive director in charge of the corporate finance division of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission. He was a member of the Listing Committees of the Main Board and the Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited from 2003 to 2008.
