Arthur Chong is a commercial real estate lawyer based in Melbourne.
As a dual-qualified lawyer in Malaysia and Australia, Arthur brings the insight of his experience in both jurisdictions. Practising across all aspects of property development projects, from due diligence to final completion, Arthur advises south-east Asian clients, including inbound property investors / developers, as well as major Australian corporations seeking to invest in the Asia Pacific region.
His considerable expertise takes in property acquisition and sales, broad-acre land and building subdivision projects including ‘off the plan’ apartment projects, due diligence projects, joint ventures, major development projects as well as acting and negotiating in commercial agreements and transactions.
Also a qualified accountant, Arthur’s extensive experience includes acting on three major development projects in Melbourne’s Docklands, major projects in Malaysia, Singapore and Vietnam, as well as a secondment to Kuala Lumpur where he helped to draft the Business and Listing Rules for MESDAQ, the Malaysian Stock Exchange for high growth and high technology companies.
