Norton Rose partner named President of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators

Elisabeth Eljuri, partner and global practice leader of the Latin America practice of Norton Rose has been appointed President of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiator (AIPN) effective April 2013.
AIPN is an independent not-for-profit professional membership association founded in Houston in 1981 and has over 4,500 members in more than 90 countries, representing numerous international oil and gas companies, host governments, law firms and academic institutions. AIPN supports international energy negotiators around the world and enhances their effectiveness and professionalism in the international energy community. AIPN is renowned for developing the model contracts used in the oil and gas sector globally.
As President, Elisabeth will pursue the AIPN's mission to support international energy negotiators meet the challenges of today's competitive global energy market and to promote networking among its members across key petroleum markets.
Elisabeth has been a member of the Board for seven years and has contributed to AIPN in numerous capacities. First as Regional Director for Latin America, thereafter as VP of Membership and then VP of Conferences. She has been an active member many years and was selected by the nominations committee as President-Elect early 2012. Norton Rose is also a major sponsor of AIPN.
The appointment follows Elisabeth’s selection as a top 10 energy practitioner worldwide by leading directory Oil and Gas for the fifth consecutive year which describes Elisabeth as “one of the true stars in Latin America.” Chambers Global also ranks Elisabeth as a leading oil and gas lawyer in Latin America and a “Star Individual” within the Venezuelan legal market.
