Norton Rose London and Africa teams advise Zambeef on its US$150 million dual listing in London
12 August 2011

International legal practice Norton Rose Group has advised Zambeef Products Plc on its US$150 million listing on London’s AIM market. Zambeef is one of the largest agri-businesses in Zambia and also has operations in Nigeria and Ghana. It is the first Zambian incorporated, Lusaka listed company to dual-list in London.

The Norton Rose Group team was led in London by corporate partner, Glenn Hall with assistance from Frankie Sangwin and Ed Sumner. US securities law advice was provided by corporate partner, Tom Vita and Alex Hirshfeld. Alastair Dixon led the team in South Africa.

Glenn Hall, corporate partner, Norton Rose LLP, commented:

“Agri-business is a rapidly growing market and one that we’re seeing a great deal of demand in. It’s a sector with huge potential, particularly in emerging economies and Africa especially. As populations continue to grow and modern farming methods become more widespread, it’s a market that is likely to play a large role in the economies of many countries.

“The deal is also a great example of the strength that our expansion into South Africa has given us on the continent. Working with our new colleagues there has been key to the success of this deal.”

Chadbourne Park advised both Strand Hanson, the Nominated Adviser, and Renaissance Capital, the Broker.
