Norton Rose Australia advised on ALB Law Awards Project Finance Deal of the Year 2011

Norton Rose Australia is proud to have acted as one of the key advisers on the Karara Iron Ore project which has been awarded Australian Legal Business Project Finance Deal of the Year.

We advised China’s second biggest steel producer, Anshan Iron and Steel Company Limited (Ansteel) (as joint venture partner with Gindalbie Metals Ltd) in its US$600 million financing,  which was an increase to the existing US$1.2 billion syndicated project financing that we advised on last year.  This deal represents an extremely significant investment by China in the continued expansion of Western Australian infrastructure and a long term commitment by Chinese enterprise to the growth of the Australian mining industry.
