14 May 2009

Trade Finance magazine has named Carnival Corporation's recent German export credit financing deal as one of its ‘Deals of the Year’ for 2008. The deal financed the supply of two cruise vessels, worth €288 million and €292 million respectively, being built by the Meyer Werft Shipyard in Germany for international cruise line operator Carnival Corporation. KfW IPEX-Bank was the initial mandated lead arranger who also brought in Commerzbank, Lloyds TSB, RBS and Société Générale.

Norton Rose Group advised the borrower Carnival Corporation in the transaction. The team was led by banking partner Gordon Hall and associate Helen Dawson in London and by banking partner Ralf Springer in Munich.
