Our recent work:

Construction, including engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) contracts

• Advising a major Israeli oil and gas group on a number of tender and contractual matters, including a $400 million turnkey EPC type contract with AGIP KCO for the Kashagan project in the Caspian Sea
• Advising Kazakhstan’s largest copper producer on contractual matters for the design and construction of metallurgical and processing plants in Kyrgyzstan, including negotiating and drafting a turnkey EPC contract with a general contractor
• Assisting Kazakhmys Gold in several contractual matters related to the design and construction of a metallurgical and processing plant in Kyrgyzstan, including negotiating and drafting a turnkey EPC contract with the general contractor
• Advising JSC NC KazMunaiGas on negotiating and executing with a Japanese construction conglomerate a contract for a turnkey Atyrau refinery modernisation worth $330 million

Commercial property

• Assisting a major Kazakh developer with the preparation and negotiation of a management agreement with the Hilton Group
• Assisting a Turkish construction conglomerate on the negotiation of the management agreement in connection with Intercontinental Hotel in Astana
• Advising Eurasia Red on structured and project financing of the development and completion of the largest commercial mall in Kazakhstan

Transport infrastructure

• Advising the Government of Kazakhstan in connection with the following automobile road concession projects:
  1. reconstruction and operation of Almaty-Horgos section of the Republic of Uzbekistan border (towards Tashkent) – Shymkent – Taraz – Horgos automobile road via Kokpek, Koktal, Blagoveshchenka with entry points to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan
  2. construction (reconstruction) and operation of Almaty – Kapshagay Section of the Almaty – Ust-Kamenogorsk automobile road
  3. construction and operation of Great Almaty Ring Road (BAKAD)
  4. reconstruction and operation of Astana – Karagandy Section of the Russian Federation Border (Towards Yekaterinburg) – Almaty automobile road via Kostanay, Astana and Karagandy
  5. participation in negotiations and preparation of draft concession contracts as part of tender documentation provided by the tender organizer to potential concessionaires for the preparation of their tender proposals and participation in the open tender designed to select the concessionaire for the above listed concession projects
