Our Central Asia litigation team is part of the Russia/CIS dispute resolution practice. The team comprises experts in international arbitration, litigation and dispute resolution. We cover the full range of disputes, including those relating to taxation, employment and labour, customs, commercial, equity ownership, insurance, securities and state authority. In recent years we have advised leading Kazakh companies on a range of notable matters.
As part of the global litigation and dispute resolution group, we provide both domestic and cross-border advice on a range of complex matters, working closely with our colleagues abroad to deliver integrated advice on contentious proceedings throughout Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.

Our recent work
- Representing Aurado Energy Inc., an independent oil company (major investors based in Switzerland), on the ICSID case against the Republic of Kazakhstan over the loss of investments and oil property due to wrongful conduct at the local court levels (denial of justice)
- Acting for Big Sky Energy Corporation in a dispute with core shareholders concerning participation in a joint venture
- Representing FH Bertling in an employment litigation case pursuant to a claim against a former deputy director
- Representing Baker Hughes in administrative proceedings related to the customs issues
- Acting for Big Sky Energy Corporation in the debt collection matter concerning recovery of $30 million debt
