Norton Rose wins again at Trade Finance Awards for Excellence
13 June 2012
Best Commodity Trade Finance Law Firm for second year running
Best Trade Law Firm in Asia for fourth year running
International legal practice Norton Rose Group has been named Best Commodity Trade Finance Law Firm in the annual Trade Finance Awards for Excellence. This is the second consecutive year that the practice has won the award, which is voted on by leading figures within the trade finance industry.
The practice has also been named Best Trade Law Firm in Asia for the fourth consecutive year.
Nick Grandage, structured trade and commodity finance partner, Norton Rose LLP, commented:
“Our international footprint continues to grow, extending our reach into a number of key regions. In the past year we’ve worked on commodity and trade finance deals in over 50 countries, most of which involve emerging markets, especially Africa, which is an increasingly important region for the commodities world.”
“Winning this award for the second year in a row, and receiving recognition for the strength of our practice in Asia for a fourth consecutive year, is especially gratifying, particularly as these awards are voted on by the key players in the market.”
The double win follows a year of further, significant international expansion for the practice with the addition of Norton Rose Canada LLP and Norton Rose South Africa to the Group. The practice’s global footprint was extended further still on 1 January 2012 with MacLeod Dixon joining the Group, establishing the practice’s first offices in Latin America, (in Colombia and Venezuela) and in Kazakhstan, and strengthening existing offices in Canada and Russia.
The expansion of the practice has added depth to all of Norton Rose Group’s six key industry strengths, including the energy and infrastructure, mining and commodities sectors, which complement the capabilities of the structured trade and commodity finance practice.
