Norton Rose reinforces German energy team
27 September 2011
International legal practice Norton Rose LLP is pleased to announce that Susanne Forysch is joining Norton Rose LLP’s German Energy Team on 01 October 2011 as Of Counsel in the Hamburg office.
For the past three years, Susanne was an in-house counsel for EWE AG based in Oldenburg, Germany. Having also worked for Statkraft and RWE Trading, Susanne has extensive experience as an in-house counsel.
Susanne is an expert for energy law, in particular with regard to power plant projects, on- and off-shore wind projects and the area of energy trading. She advised Statkraft on the gas and steam power plant project Herdecke and Hürth-Knapsack and EWE on the off-shore projects alpha ventus and Riffgat. In addition, she was responsible for sales and market development at RWE Trading.
Before joining EWE as an in-house counsel, Susanne was a member of Norton Rose LLP's Energy Team in Frankfurt. During that time she advised, among other clients, E.ON and several banks and energy suppliers. As a result of this experience, Susanne has a deep understanding of the energy sector from both the legal and commercial perspectives.
Susanne will focus on infrastructure projects (such as grid operation and conventional energy production), regulatory issues and energy trading. With her recent experience in the area of renewable energy she will also support the Hamburg office in this respect.
The German energy team at Norton Rose LLP currently comprises seven partners and 15 associates.
