Leading arbitration partner joins Norton Rose in Frankfurt
26 September 2011
International legal practice, Norton Rose LLP has announced today that Patricia Nacimiento, a dispute resolution and arbitration specialist, is to join as a partner in the Frankfurt office.
Patricia was previously a partner with White & Case in Germany, acting in disputes in the areas of construction, energy, post-merger and acquisition, and commercial disputes. She also specialises in investment arbitration, representing both states and investors. In 2007, the German government appointed her as one of four arbitrators to the panel of arbitrators at the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
Alexander von Bergwelt, Head of Germany at Norton Rose LLP, commented:
“We are very happy that Patricia will be joining our Frankfurt office. We are gaining one of the most highly regarded dispute lawyers in Germany. Her arrival significantly strengthens our disputes practice and so continues our strong path of growth in Germany.”

Joe Tirado, Head of International Arbitration and ADR at Norton Rose LLP, commented:
“Patricia has a wealth of experience in international dispute resolution, particularly regarding complex international arbitration and commercial disputes. Her investor-state and Latin American expertise in particular will significantly enhance our German, European and global offering.”
Norton Rose LLP’s disputes practice in Germany comprises currently two partners, one consultant and seven associates. Norton Rose Group has one of the world’s leading disputes practices, with over 400 specialists internationally.
Patricia Nacimiento is a lecturer at the University of Heidelberg, and in the MBA program of the University of Mainz. She is a member of the advisory board of the Swiss Arbitration Academy and member of the International Law Association’s working group on investment protection. She is also a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration.
This is the fourth top-level hire into the Frankfurt office of Norton Rose LLP in recent months. It follows on from the arrival of energy partners Antje Günther and Corrado Wohlwend, who joined the office with their teams from DLA Piper in May. Earlier this month, Norton Rose LLP announced that Thilo Danz will join the office’s tax practice as Of Counsel on 1 October. He is currently Vice President of the tax department at Citigroup Global Deutschland AG.
