An international experience

For many of our trainees who've lived and studied outside of the capital, living and working in London for the first time is a challenging and exciting experience in itself. Working internationally can also offer tremendous personal and career benefits. Because we are an international legal practice with offices across Europe, the Middle East and Asia, your training contract offers you the opportunity to complete a four or eight month international seat.

During your training contract we will actively encourage you to do an international seat. At the moment, around 80 per cent choose to do so, some opting to spend two seats in an international office. In our view, an international seat enriches the training contract experience by giving you greater responsibility and increased client contact.

As a result of the international scope of our practice and broad range of multinational clients, much of the work we do in each of our offices is international in nature. Even if you decide not to take an international seat, it's common to work on transactions and cases in which at least one of the parties is based outside the UK, so you may travel outside the United Kingdom, even when based in London.

Our international presence continues to expand in line with our strategy to extend our global reach even further. Even in locations where we don't have an office, we have systems in place to provide our clients with total global coverage.
