How do I apply?For training contracts and placement schemes you will need to apply online as we do not accept any other form of application. Please visit the "Application" section to submit your application and for further details.Back to the top

When is the deadline for training contracts? The absolute deadline is 31st July. However, we encourage all non law applicants or those who have already graduated to apply sooner as we run interview days for these candidates from January onwards. Penultimate year law students need only meet the deadline as these interviews will be carried out in August and September.Back to the top

What happens after I submit my application?You will be sent a confirmation e-mail to notify you that your application has been received. Please bear in mind that we receive a large number of applications and so may not be able to review your form immediately. Once we have have reviewed your form and reached a decision, we will contact you with the outcome.Back to the top

How soon after submitting my application will I know the outcome?Penultimate year law students will not be contacted until after the deadline. All other applicants will be notified as soon as possible, but please do be aware that the process is ongoing and we may not be able to give you a decision immediately. Be assured that we will do our best not to keep you waiting unnecessarily.Back to the top

Can I apply if I haven't studied law?Yes. Each year approximately 40 - 45 per cent of our trainees come from non law backgrounds. Back to the top

Can I apply if I do not fall into either category of penultimate year law student or final year non law student?Yes, we welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds. Back to the top

Do you help with obtaining work permits?Yes, we will apply for a work permit on your behalf.Back to the top

My grades fall short of your minimum academic requirements, but I have genuine mitigating circumstances - what should I do?We are happy to consider your application, but please do let us know about the mitigating circumstances - you can contact graduate recruitment at anytime to discuss in confidence.Back to the top

Do you have any preference as to where I attained my degree?In 2005 we recruited from a total of 22 different universities throughout the UK and internationally. We consider applications on individual merit, not based on the academic institution attended.Back to the top

Do you have a preference as to which modules I choose during my law degree?We would advise you to choose subjects that you think you would enjoy. However, you should bear in mind that if all of your options are unrelated to a career in a City legal practice, you might be questioned about this during your interview!Back to the top

Would an LLM help my application?All applications are considered entirely on merit and any Masters degree would need to be in a relevant discipline. Remember, we are looking for a consistently good academic record from A-Levels (or equivalent) onwards.Back to the top
