Angela is a corporate tax lawyer based in our London office.
Angela's practice focuses on the tax aspects of structured financial transactions, such as securitisations and derivatives, as well as other structured and asset finance products.
On the securitisation side, Angela has acted for rating agencies, originators, arrangers and conduit providers on a wide range of transactions. Her experience includes CMBS and RMBS transactions, hire purchase and lease receivable securitisations, and whole business deals. She has also advised on setting up a securitisation conduit.
Angela has participated in HMRC’s IAS 39 Working Group, a specialist group that is tasked at looking at solutions to tax problems created by the adoption of international financial reporting standards in the area of loans and other financial instruments. She has also participated in HMRC’s Islamic Finance Working Group, a specialist group which has sought to align the UK tax treatment of Islamic financing structures with their conventional counterparts.
Angela has also advised on a large range of structured finance and asset finance transactions, including partnership structures, innovative leasing structures, a joint venture for a major clearing bank and various Tier One capital raisings.
