New partner boosts Norton Rose Paris corporate team
2 June 2011
International legal practice Norton Rose LLP announced today that Jon Harry, a corporate specialist is joining its Paris office as a partner on 6 June 2011.
Jon covers all aspects of corporate work, in particular cross-border mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures for large French and international blue chip companies. He also regularly advises funds on their investment and LBO activities.
He recently acted on behalf of Willis Group on their LBO investment of Gras Savoye and on the acquisition of nCipher plc by Thales.
George Paterson, the head of Norton Rose LLP’s Paris office commented:
“Following the appointments of Marc d’Haultfoeuille and Stéphane Sabatier, the addition of Jon Harry confirms our commitment to build a first rate Paris corporate team, to service major French as well as international Group clients. Jon’s extensive international career, knowledge of the French M&A market across the defence, transport and energy sectors fits perfectly with Norton Rose Group’s key industry strengths.”
Jon Harry added:
“I have followed Norton Rose Group’s recent strategic developments in Australia and then South Africa and Canada. As a cross-border M&A specialist, it was very important for me to join a practice which combines the same quality of service across the world with a collegiate culture which allows clients instant access to all the expertise they need in different business centres.”
Jon began his career at Lovells (now Hogan Lovells) as a trainee in 1988, qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and has practised from Paris since 1998. In 2000 he became a partner at the firm and led the Paris’ office’s corporate group from 2006 to 2009.
Jon Harry is the third partner in less than six months to join the Norton Rose corporate department in Paris. In December 2010 Marc d’Haultfoeuille, an intellectual property, technology and outsourcing/offshoring specialist joined followed in February of this year by Stéphane Sabatier, an M&A and Capital Market specialist. With Jon’s arrival the Paris corporate team numbers seven partners.
