Privatisation

The global financial crisis and need for many governments to reduce borrowing is driving a privatisation programme of infrastructure assets in many countries.

We also have substantial experience of acting on both domestic and international privatisations across a range of infrastructure sectors. This includes privatisations by M&A transactions, as well as through initial public offering and secondary offerings (acting both for governments and for underwriters) and privatisations by block sale of shares to consortia and strategic buyers.

Our work on privatisations has required our involvement in virtually all aspects of the privatisation process, including the structuring of the transaction, drafting the enabling legislation and considering the appropriateness of the regulatory regime which will apply to the privatised industry.

We offer you

  • A strong track record in infrastructure
  • Experience of all forms of privatisation acting for buyers and sellers
  • Extensive experience of advising on related competition, state aid and procurement law/concession issues
