Gas

The last 20 years has seen natural gas become one of the key fuels for power generation across the globe.

In many markets gas is the only option for countries to move away from a dependence on coal.

We advise on all aspects of the gas-to-power industry globally. We have experts advising on gas supply, pipeline access and connection arrangements. We understand how to structure tolling and offtake arrangements which fit with the relevant gas and power markets and the frequently changing rating agency and accounting issues faced by utilities, traders and generators.

We are one of the few law firms globally to have a depth of understanding of the merchant or wholesale model.

Our global construction team has worked with all of the major manufacturers forming part of the supply chain to the gas-to-power industry. We understand what constitutes market practice and can efficiently advise clients on the development and implementation of their projects.

We work on gas-fired power stations of all sizes - from 1MW to several 1000MW. Similarly we work right across the globe supporting our clients in a wide range of jurisdictions where gas- fired power stations are being developed or operated.

Our M&A experts understand the issues faced when you are buying or selling gas-fired power stations.
