Our global banking and finance team maintains a leading reputation for complex, cross-border transactions for the world’s most prominent financial institutions. Excelling in a number of jurisdictions, our 700 lawyer team delivers commercially focused, seamless advice across Europe, Asia, Australia, Canada, Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and Central Asia.  

We have one of the longest histories of any legal practice in the banking and finance field, advising a number of major banks, finance providers, export credit agencies (ECAs) and other participants in the global banking and finance arena, as well as corporate and sovereign entities.

Our banking and finance team offers particular expertise in our key industries: financial institutions; energy; infrastructure, mining & commodities; transport; technology and innovation; and pharmaceuticals and life sciences.

Our recent work:

  • Acted as international counsel to Bank of America, N.A., as administrative and collateral agent and as lender, in connection with the establishment of asset based credit facilities in the aggregate amount of US$1.25 billion in favour of McJunkin Red Man Corporation and other related entities.
  • Advising the finance parties on a US$4.1 billion funding for the development of the Surgil gas field and a state-of-the-art gas chemical complex in Karakalpakstan, Republic of Uzbekistan that will produce petrochemical products such as high density polyethylene and high density polypropylene.
  • Advised on the US$1.2 billion expansion of Madinah Airport, the first full PPP in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We advised the sponsors, TAV Havalimanlari Holding A.S, Saudi Oger Limited and Al Rajhi Holdings (the TIBAH Consortium) on the financing and construction of Madinah Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
