Norton Rose advises Innogy Venture Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds on investment in energy forecast supplier enercast
3 May 2012

International legal practice Norton Rose LLP has advised Innogy Venture Capital and High-Tech Gründerfonds on their EUR 2.25 million investment in start-up enterprise enercast GmbH.

The young technology enterprise supplies forecasts for electricity generation from wind and solar and this enables significant cost savings along the entire energy value-added chain. The process was developed in close co-operation with the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy and Energy System Technology (Fraunhofer IWES) and allows the young technology enterprise to issue site-specific electricity generation forecasts precisely every 15 minutes.

Innogy Venture Capital is a funds management company which specialises in renewable technology. The company’s focus is on investment in young european enterprises which work on CO2 neutral, renewable energy generation and storage solutions. With investments of 115 million euro, the currently administered fund “Innogy Renewables Technology Fund I” is one of Europe’s leading early stage financiers in this area.
