John Challoner

John Challoner is a tax lawyer based in London. He specialises in collective investment schemes, property funds and developments, Islamic finance, corporate restructurings, emerging markets, domestic and international joint ventures, and VAT.
Recent experience includes advising ING Real Estate on the acquisition of the Abbey portflio of properties for £1.2 billion, and advising a number of banks on Islamic financings of UK residential and commercial property transactions.
John is nominated as a “leading individual” for corporate tax in Chambers and The Legal 500. John is noted for his "technical expertise balanced with commercial sensibility" in Chambers UK 2010.
He qualified in 1977 and became a partner in 1988. He is a member of Law Society, City of London Solicitors’ Company, International Fiscal Association.
