Robert Mason represents issuers and underwriters on corporate finance transactions and M&A mandates, with a particular emphasis on mining and other natural resource sectors. He has extensive international experience, having recently led offerings by issuers located in South Africa, Australia, the United Kingdom and Canada with projects throughout the world.

Prior to joining our Toronto office, Mr. Mason acted for:
- The underwriters, led by BMO Capital Markets, on Victoria Gold Corp.’s $30 million bought deal public offering of common shares and flow-through common shares (November 9, 2011)
- The syndicate of underwriters, led by Dundee Securities Ltd., on a bought deal unit offering by Colossus Minerals Inc. for total gross proceeds of $86.2 million (November 8, 2011)
- The underwriters, led by CIBC World Markets Inc. and Frazer Mackenzie Limited, on Gold Canyon Resources Inc.’s bought deal private placement of common shares and flow-through shares for aggregate gross proceeds of about $15 million (November 3, 2011)
- The underwriters, led by BMO Capital Markets and TD Securities Inc., on Detour Gold Corporation’s bought deal common share offering for aggregate gross proceeds of about $427.7 million, including proceeds from shares issued pursuant to the underwriters exercising their over-allotment option (August 4, 2011)
- The sole agent, Jennings Capital Inc., in a private placement on a best-efforts basis of flow-through units and non-flow-through units of Rogue Resources Inc., a TSX Venture Exchange-listed issuer, for gross proceeds of $4.6 million (June 16, 2011)
- Leisureworld Senior Care Corporation in its acquisition of two luxury retirement residences for a net purchase price of approximately $89 million, financed by a $46 million subscription receipt offering and a new $55 million credit facility (April 27, 2011)
- The sole agent, Jennings Capital Inc., in Cap-Ex Ventures Ltd.’s offering of non-flow-through units and flow-through units raising aggregate gross proceeds of about $12.6 million (March 30, 2011)
- The underwriters, led by Jennings Capital Inc. and Credit Suisse Securities (Canada), Inc., on Canadian mining company New Millennium Iron Corp.’s bought deal public offering of common shares for aggregate gross proceeds of about $63.2 million (February 28, 2011)
- The underwriting syndicate, led by Jennings Capital Inc., in connection with the $55 million bought deal of common shares by New Millennium Capital Corp.
- Gold Dragon Resources in respect of various potential gold and other resource property acquisitions
