Alena Titterton is an occupational health, safety and security lawyer based in Canberra.
Alena’s client experience spans the public and private sectors and includes defence, energy, gas, construction, infrastructure, mining, transport and rail. Her practice includes assisting clients in the preparation of safety due diligence frameworks for officers, safety management systems, safety performance reporting systems and conducting legal gap analyses for compliance against the Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws.
Alena also assists clients with incident response and investigation processes as part of our 24/7 incident response service and represents clients in coronial inquests and defending regulatory prosecutions.
Alena has extensive experience advising government departments, agencies and publically owned entities on how to prepare for compliance with the WHS legislation. Most recently, Alena has assisted the Navy with the development of an OHS management system for the Australian Navy Cadets and the Navy Safety Management System Implementation Project – advising on required activities for WHS Act compliance. Alena has also advised Defence and DMO on contractual specification requirements for various projects including the F-111 refurbishment and disposal projects.
