Oliver has worked extensively in the communications, media and technology sectors including advising on M&A, private equity, investment, restructuring and privatisation transactions in both developed and developing economies.

Oliver’s recent experience in the TMT sector includes advising Albright Capital and Rothschild Investment Trust plc on the $350m investment into Helios Towers Africa, a pan African towers and infrastructure company; advising France Telecom SA on the merger of Orange UK and T-Mobile UK, a highly complex transaction to create the UK’s largest mobile operator; advising Prime Technology Ventures on the acquisition of a technology business from Philips; advising Vodacom, South Africa's largest mobile operator, on its acquisition of the carrier services and business network solutions subsidiaries of Gateway Telecommunications Plc, a pan African communications business with operations in multiple African and European countries; advising Vodafone in connection with its acquisition of a 70 per cent shareholding in Ghana Telecom upon the privatisation by the Government of Ghana; acting for MerchantBridge in connection with its involvement in a consortium’s successful bid to acquire a mobile licence in Iraq and a majority stake in AsiaCell Iraq, including the acquisition of the assets and business of the former operator; and advising Novator Partners LLP in connection with its investments in Play the Polish 3G mobile operator and Netia SA, the Polish-fixed line operator.
